Rising star Melissa Bolona appeared on ‘Extra’ to promote her new film Acts of Violence. The film, which has been long anticipated since its announcement over a year ago, has recently been released to the satisfaction of many curious audiences.
Bolona initially gained fame as an international model and philanthropist. However, in 2014, Bolona dove into the acting world with her role as Cindy in Grace of God and has since earned an impressive number of both major and minor roles in her short career. These roles include when she played Amethyst Stone in Year of the Spectacular Men directed by Lea Thompson and, of course, her role as Mia in Acts of Violence. Known for her work ethic and dedication, Bolona has always been active in promoting her films and Acts of Violence has been no exception.
Directed by Brett Donowho, Acts of Violence garnered plenty of attention in Spring 2017 with the announcement of its star-studded cast which would feature action legends Bruce Willis and Mike Epps, along with Cole Hauser, Ashton Holmes and Shawn Ashmore. The Acts of Violence trailer was released late in December and served to and once again piqued curiosity with a promise of a classic action adventure. After a long wait, the film finally hit the big screen on January 12 of 2018.
Bolona plays Mia, a bride to be who has been kidnaped by human traffickers, led by Epps, on the night of her bachelorette party. To save his future wife, Mia’s fiancé assembles a trio of vigilantes who will stop at nothing to get Mia back. Fortunately, the trio seems to have detectives James Avery, played by Willis, and Brooke Baker, played by Sophia Bush, on their side.
